Sculptures

In 2015 the architects for the new Great Tapestry of Scotland building for Galashiels suggested I try and take some of the drawings of the figures and imagine them standing in front of the building. So over the following years I have developed a few models and tried to paint onto them as well.

These woman stitchers are all based on Frances M Lynch ideas of visualisation of the stitches. Frances did many workshops with The Great Tapestry of Scotland.

Within these ideas are fisherwomen, women who went down the mines, church women, they are small and could be very large. They could be in ceramic or temporary. I have displayed them at various exhibitions. They are meant to be tribute to the many women who have created these tapestries.
