Sketchbooks

From initial thoughts, through developing ideas, collecting visual material and  written information the sketchbook is a way forward to gather all. In preparing for the tapestries and murals there is lots of development drawing, working things out that go into the sketchbooks and notes. The bulk of work for any project is contained within the traditional sketchbooks, files and increasingly on computer.  I often think my best work is hidden in my studio, in my sketchbooks, research files and worksheets.
