The Scottish Thistle is the first in a series of downloadable designs that are exclusive to this website. This design reflects the history and colour of Scotland. I have designed over 600 designs for many tapestries since 2010. Building up experience on how create design for stitch. 
 
The Scottish Thistle is an iconic national image, that is in many of my tapestry designs and murals. It can be drawn in different ways, but I think there is an iconic shape that can be traced back to heraldic coats of arms, which has a very precise method of reproduction. 
It may not be correct, but it is an iconic shape. Such an important image, it  has many legends and stories attached to it. Well over 1000 years of myths and stories.
 
If you wish to stitch this drawing, trace the line drawing onto a piece of linen, then stitch. Simple!
