This is the story of the young Ninel Gink and the people and town of Rehc Taht; the most northerly European town in the world. They live in darkness most of the year and are surrounded by ice, listen to the radio phone-in programmes and love the telephone.

An ecological parable for our times. This fictional town and its story is a combination of the authors Scottish roots and it is inspired by and shows respect and fascination for the Inuit culture and history.

Over the years I have returned to this story, trying to combine words and images. hopefully creating a world that lies beyond the ice.  I have many sketches and thoughts about this story.

This is an ongoing project that was started in 1988. In 2005 I self published this book, since this then more sketches, more words.
